Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts as of February of 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family depended sometimes on food deliveries from a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who drank often and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran was struggling in school, and she later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed numerous classes in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
